Acoustics covers two distinct jobs: how a room sounds inside, and what passes between it and everywhere else. Almost every project needs both.

The word covers more than panels. Making a hall intelligible, keeping a studio silent, stopping plant noise reaching a bedroom and making an open-plan office workable are different problems with different solutions — and confusing them is the most common and most expensive mistake in this field.
Treatment — how a room sounds
Absorption, diffusion and the geometry of the surfaces decide reverberation, clarity and intelligibility. That work is acoustic panels, ceilings and beams, placed by calculation against a measured target.
Isolation — what gets in and out
Mass, separation and sealing decide what passes between spaces. That work is isolated construction, doors and windows, vibration control and attenuated ventilation.
Prediction and proof
Both are settled with numbers. Rooms are modelled before construction and measured afterwards, and the commissioning report carries both.
