Three requirements, often confused. Privacy is isolation. Comfort is background noise. Intelligibility is the room’s own acoustics and the system in it. We design for all three and measure the first two.
Isolation and privacy
- Partitions carried to the slab, with the ceiling void closed.
- Door sets specified with seals, and glazed elements treated as assemblies.
- Service penetrations sealed and, where needed, attenuated.
- Where confidentiality is critical, the target is set against speech privacy rather than a general figure.
Inside the room
Reverberation is brought to a speech-clarity target, with absorption placed where it does the most for intelligibility and the table geometry respected. The audio system — microphones, discussion units, reinforcement — is designed against the treated room, not the bare shell.
The systems
Conference and discussion systems, video conferencing, displays or projection, and the control that ties them together are all part of the same contract where you want them to be. Training is included on handover, so the room can be run by the people who work there.
