A stage rig starts with the productions the venue will host, not with a fixture list. Positions, power and access come first; fixtures follow.

Lighting a performance means covering the acting area evenly, giving it direction and depth, and being able to change the look between scenes. The rig has to make that possible for whoever is programming it, including visiting companies who arrive with their own plan.
What the design settles
- Bar and truss positions — front of house, over-stage and side — with the angles the stage needs.
- Load-bearing and rigging, coordinated with the structure.
- Power distribution, dimmer and direct circuits at each position.
- Fixture selection for wash, profile and effect duties.
- Control position, cable routes and patch.
Access and maintenance
Fixtures must be reachable. Access — catwalk, tension wire grid, lift or tower — is part of the design, because a rig that cannot be refocused safely stops being used.
Simulation before installation
Rigs are modelled in our lighting simulator so coverage and angles can be seen and agreed before anything is bought or hung.
